FALL 2015 - Networked Communities & Environment (DIGF 3B01)

Lead Instructor: Maziar Ghaderi

This studio seminar course is a cross-disciplinary opportunity for art and design students interested in the social aspects of digital media. It offers a rigorous exploration of commentary, practices, and tools related to networked communities and environments. The course will be comprised of in-class workshops orienting students to current and emerging technologies, and student-led group seminars on topics of technological and social change.

Students will undertake individual and collaborative projects, carrying concepts of communities, environments, and social media networks from research through to the creation of robust interactive multimedia artworks and design prototypes.

SPRING 2016 - Major Project and Interactive Exhibition (DIGF 6010)

Lead Instructor: Maziar Ghaderi

This course undertakes the collaborative creation of an interactive exhibition of final thesis and major diploma projects. Students gain valuable experience coordinating a complex digital event with a significant public presence. The exhibition will include digital components, platforms, exhibits and artifacts, interactive demonstrations and marketing elements within the framework of an overall narrative developed by the group.

Students will refine and complete an ongoing project that demonstrates a full development cycle, from ideation through to prototyping, testing, and professional execution. Investigation of existing and novel approaches to framing, situating and mounting an interactive exhibition gives formal grounding for the course.

This course will enrich student’s experience of collaborative development, co-creation and execution of interactive exhibition narrative and design.

2014-PRESENT - Video Production Workshops

From time to time I'm asked to host workshops for various Digital Futures courses to help students realize their video-based projects. Topics include: storyboarding, shot-lists, proper sound recording and production, demystifying the post-production process, cinematography, mise en scène, narrative structures and shooting basics.
