Detroit 2311

The year is 2311. The city is Detroit. Cybernetic implants serve as corridors for the ghosts of Motown to possess a girl – if only for one night. Marvin, Diana, Michael and Smokey have been trapped in computers for centuries. Through their host's foreign fleshly vocal chords, these ghosts sing a series of love songs as relic odes to the golden era of Motown.

artist’s intent

I’ve always wanted to make a singer’s dress glow by the whims of ghosts that react to her voice. They called me crazy, until I did it at the Gladstone Hotel for the Subtle Technologies festival in 2016. Then, they just called me.
