Overview
Develop your skills in creative technology through our immersive Projection Mapping Workshop series. Designed by award-winning Toronto-based new media artist Maziar Ghaderi, this program prepares artists to use argumentative light; a term coined to describe light as a persuasive and narrative medium, across a range of applications, including theatre, dance, live concerts, site-specific works, storefront installations, public art, and event activations.
Expected Outcomes
By the end of the series, participants will have a strong grasp of projection mapping tools and techniques, and understand how to incorporate them into larger productions with multiple performers, surfaces, and audience engagements.

Our 4-Point Methodology
-
We begin by examining global case studies from artists, academics, and technologists who have innovated with projection and live-data technologies.
-
We explore the interplay of visual design, interactivity, and affect—looking at how projection mapping can elevate storytelling through dynamic visual dramaturgy.
-
Participants get hands-on experience with VJ software, edge blending, MIDI interactivity, live filters, and workflows using Isadora, After Effects, Cinema 4D, and FCPX.
-
The process concludes with documentation, peer review, and feedback from industry experts to refine your final concept and presentation.
