about.

CORRIDOOR by MAZIART is a 24-foot immersive holographic installation that was first presented as part of TIFF’s 50th-anniversary Festival Street in the fall of 2025. Acting as a cinematic portal, it invites audiences to walk through a shifting field of light, motion, and memory—an ephemeral space where the city itself becomes a screen. Powered by real-time motion tracking and projection mapping, the work transforms public space into an active canvas where passersby are both spectator and protagonist. Across four nights, CORRIDOOR showcased multiple short experiences—ranging from photogrammetry gardens and archival projections of King Street to abstract, interactive works; each exploring the relationship between memory, cinema, and the digital present.

director’s statement.

“For me, CORRIDOOR represents a decade-long journey toward merging film, architecture, and interactivity into a single lived experience. Cinema has always been a portal—one that transports us, reflects us, and changes us. In this work, I wanted to extend that metaphor into physical space: to let audiences walk through memory itself, illuminated by images that react to their movement. Every projection becomes a living memory—fragile, luminous, and fleeting—mirroring how we remember. As an artist, I’m drawn to creating moments of magic in the everyday cityscape, where technology amplifies human emotion rather than replacing it. CORRIDOOR is a love letter to cinema, to Toronto, and to the people who make stories come alive.”
